Traulsen evaporator coils for refrigerated equipment. Is your evaporator coil frozen over? this can be caused by a number of things as simple as a bad door gasket or door not closing properly.
 
Traulsen evaporator coils function: by absorbing heat from the surrounding environment, like the inside of a refrigerator or freezer, and transferring that heat to the refrigerant, causing it to evaporate. This process allows the refrigerant to cool the space to the desired temperature, which is controlled by a thermostat. Essentially, the evaporator coil acts as a heat exchanger, facilitating the cooling process in Traulsen refrigeration systems. 
  • Heat Absorption:
    The evaporator coil is a series of tubes filled with refrigerant, located inside the refrigerator or freezer. As air passes over the cold coils, the refrigerant inside absorbs the heat, causing it to evaporate from a liquid to a gas. 
  • Refrigerant Cycle:
    The now gaseous refrigerant is then pumped to the compressor, where it's compressed and sent to the condenser coil to release the absorbed heat outside the unit. The refrigerant then returns to the evaporator coil, repeating the cycle. 
  • Temperature Regulation:
    By continuously absorbing heat and cycling the refrigerant, the evaporator coil maintains the desired temperature inside the refrigeration unit. 
  • Defrost Cycle:
    In some cases, ice can build up on the evaporator coil, reducing its efficiency. To prevent this, a defrost cycle is initiated periodically, which uses heat to melt the ice, ensuring optimal performance.
