DIY Replacement
The Kason 1255 and 1256 Pacesetter door hinges are cam-rise hinges primarily used for walk-in coolers and freezers. They are reversible for use on right- or left-opening doors and are designed to reduce wear on the door gasket. The key difference is their size, with the 1255 series being slightly smaller than the 1256.
Key Features
- Type: Cam-rise hinge, which lifts the door slightly as it opens and uses gravity to help close it.
- Material: High-pressure die-cast zinc with a self-lubricating nylon cam for smooth operation.
- Finish Options: Available in polished chrome and brushed chrome (textured or smooth panel) finishes.
- Reversible: Easily reversible for both right- and left-hand door applications without needing tools.
- Dwell Feature: Built-in dwell holds the door open beyond a certain point (approximately 90° for the
1255, and beyond 120° for the 1256), allowing for hands-free loading.
- Spring Assist: An optional spring cartridge kit (part #1255-2) can be added to convert the hinge to a spring-assist mechanism for greater closing force
