DIY: replacement
Continental door gaskets are critical components for maintaining internal temperatures and energy efficiency in commercial refrigeration units. Most Continental gaskets are magnetic, snap-in styles that can be replaced without tools by pulling the old dart from the retainer and pushing the new one in.
Continental refrigeration door gaskets. Help keep the cold in and extend product life. Replacing worn or cracked door seals is a win for the end user. No need for a service call when you can do it yourself and save. Refrigerators, Freezers, Prep Tables, work tops, beer coolers and more.
Make sure you get the correct gasket
- Locate the Model Number: Check the manufacturer's tag, usually found on the inside wall, ceiling, or behind the lower crisper drawer of the unit.
- Identify the Gasket Profile: Continental gaskets are primarily snap-in (dart-style), but some older or specific models may use screw-in or bolt-on styles.
- Measure the Dimensions: Measure the old gasket from outside edge to outside edge at the corners (width x height) while it is still fitted to the door.
- Confirm the Dart Style: Pull back a corner to see the style of mounting verify it's the "dart style" or a screw on style
NOTE: For best installation results
(1) submerge gasket in warm water 160° to soften the materiel before installing
(2) start in corners, install gasket and tape door closed
(3) let gasket form to door.
