DIY door hinge replacement

Kason 1245 door hinges are a series of industry-standard, reversible, self-closing cam-rise hinges primarily used on walk-in coolers and freezers. They are designed for durability and smooth, trouble-free door operation, and are available in a variety of offsets to accommodate different door and frame configurations.

Key Features

Operation: The cam-rise action reduces gasket wear, and the door opens with minimal effort. A built-in dwell feature holds the door open beyond approximately 135 degrees.

Reversible Design: The hinges are field-reversible for use on right- or left-opening doors through a simple manual operation.

Material and Finish: They are manufactured from high-pressure die-cast zinc and feature a self-lubricating nylon cam. Common finishes include polished chrome and powder-coated white for severe environmental applications.

Installation: The hinges are flush-mounted and pre-drilled and countersunk for 1/4" flathead screws (sold separately).

Offsets: The "offset" refers to the distance between the outside surface of the door and the outside surface of the frame or cabinet. The 1245 series is available in several offsets, including:

Flush (zero offset)

1 1/8" offset

1 1/4" offset

1 1/2" offset

1 5/8" offset

1 7/8" offset
